Disaster Planning 101

A disaster plan shouldn’t be something that is just dreamed up one day and given occasional thought.  Instead, it needs to be something that is written down and communicated to all involved.

In this session, we talk about the different factors that come into play when devising an overall disaster response plan and how to account for each of them.  No matter what the emergency may be, the basic needs don’t change – food, water, shelter, light, first aid, security.  Each of these categories of need is discussed, with a focus on sheltering in place until the crisis has passed.

Attendees of this class will receive handouts that will help them in devising their disaster response plans at home.

Class length: 75 minutes
