FAQs

Are there limits on class size?
While we do not set any restrictions on the maximum number of attendees in any session, we’ve found more than 30 or so in a class limits the interactive rapport we strive for in the classes.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept checks, money orders, and credit cards (via PayPal). Cash is also okay but it tends to give our bookkeeper fits.

How do we schedule a class or consultation?
Simply send us an email with what you have in mind and we’ll work out the details. We much prefer to schedule classes at least two weeks in advance, so please keep that in mind.

Where are the classes held?
We come to you! We’ve done class sessions in onsite corporate meeting rooms, company training facilities, at local libraries, restaurants, and convention centers. If you do not have any onsite facilities available, we’ll find a mutually acceptable location in your area. Please note, if space needs to be rented for the class session(s), the expense will be added to the bill you receive from us.

Do you handle custom class requests?
Absolutely! Just tell us what you hope to achieve and we’ll work together to come up with a great way to meet your goals. We love the challenge of devising new approaches to teach these valuable skills.

What should attendees bring with them to a class session?
A pen or pencil, a willingness to ask questions, and an eagerness to learn.

How long do the classes run?
As you’ll see in the class descriptions, the running time is listed for each session. This is the total time for the class and includes one or two short breaks as well as a bit of time at the end for Q&A. Note though that we are happy to stick around as long as you’d like to answer questions from the attendees.

How does the consulting aspect work?
Generally, clients will contact us with at least some idea of what they are hoping to accomplish. For example, they want to know what they can do to help their employees be better prepared for emergencies at work. We’ll schedule an onsite visit, do a walk through, and ask questions. We’ll work with you to come up with reasonable and cost-effective solutions. We then follow that up with a written report detailing our suggestions.

In addition to classes and consultation, what other custom work do you do?
The sky and your imagination are the limits! We could draft a short workbook on disaster readiness you could copy and give to all your employees as a way of showing them you care about their safety and well-being. We could conduct mock drills to help your team determine where their plans need fine-tuning. Tell us your goals and we’ll figure out how to exceed them!
